Yeah, I'm sure the stats probably are higher. Unfortunately this country is still hooked on this idea of abstinence and waiting for marriage, which is just never going to work. This Christianity-based way of thinking is destroying a lot of opportunity for potential "problem solvers" like the morning after pill. People are so damn afraid their kids won't abstain from sex, because now they have other options.
But sex isn't the problem. It's ignorance.
